Samsung Galaxy Alpha rooting – how to

You want to get the most out of your Samsung Galaxy Alpha out, you should root the Smartphone. We will show you how to exactly proceed.

Step 1: The preparations to the Root

  • Create first a Backup of your Android System. You have received a new device or is no important data on the Smartphone, this step is omitted.
  • So there are no complications, you should pay attention to the power supply of the Smartphone and the PC. To download the Galaxy Alpha to at least 80 percent. You are using a Laptop, plug this rather directly to the stream.

Step 2: Download the Tools

The following programs and files are needed for Root process:

  2. On your Desktop, create a new folder with the name "Odin". Open the Auto Root Package and copy all contained files to the just created folder.

  1. Press and hold simultaneously the Home Button, Power Button and the volume down button for about 10 seconds, and turn off the device then.
  2. You will see after some seconds a warning on the screen. Confirm this by Pressing the volume up. The Smartphone is now in Download mode.
  3. Start the file "odin.exe" from the folder "Odin". Connect the Galaxy Alpha with your Computer.
  4. Right click on the "PDA" Button and select the Auto Root Package from your Computer.
  5. Via the Button "Start" to begin the Root process. After a few seconds a green box with the inscription "PASS appears at the top left of the window!".
  6. Wait it starts up to the Samsung Galaxy Alpha back in, and disconnect from the Computer.
  7. You want to check whether your phone is really rooted, download the App Root Checker down.
