Google Maps disable Android 4.4 KitKat
Google Maps is one of the so-called System-Apps is pre-installed on the device and is part of the operating system. Without Root access, the App can therefore only disable:
- Open the "settings" on your Smartphone.
- Tap the "Apps" and swipe in the next menu to the left to display all Apps.
- Here you can select "Maps" and tap on the button "Disable". Google Maps is now hidden on your device and all related data will be deleted.
- On the App Overview, you can activate the Google Maps again: Scroll up to the end, from there you can select Google Maps, and tap on "Activate".

You have a rooted Smartphone, you will have extended access to the System and thus also on the pre-installed Apps. Works best the Uninstall process with "Root Uninstaller":
- You install the App on your Smartphone.
- Start a "Root Uninstaller" and put a hook behind "Maps".
- Tap the button "Uninstall Selected Apps" and confirm the next window with "OK". Google Maps will be removed from your phone.
