Step 1: preparations to Remove the branding on the Galaxy S4
The Branding is to remove your Smartphone flash. As the Jailbreak of iPhones this can pose a procedure a certain amount of risk. As you dig deeper into the System of your smartphone, you can make in case of damage, hardly any more of your warranty rights.
- First of all, you need the appropriate Firmware to your Galaxy S4. These can be found on the website of SamMobile.
- Download now the free program Odin3 , download and install it on your Computer.
- To start the program, right-click on the corresponding Icon on your Desktop. In the context menu choose the Option "run As Administrator".
- The program is started, click approximately in the middle on the Button "PDA". Then, select the Firmware and open it. The Firmware detect it in case of doubt, to the file extension ".tar.md5".

Step 2: Galaxy S4 in Download mode
So that you can work with Odin, you need to put your Smartphone into Download mode.
- Turn off the Galaxy S4 completely. If the phone is really turned off, you will notice the short Vibration and the Display is off.
- Now press simultaneously the keys "volume down", the "Home Button" and the "Power Button". Press and hold all three keys until on the screen a warning will appear.
- Confirm the warning by pressing, briefly press the "volume up".

Step 3: Odin and Galaxy S4 connect
- Connect the Smartphone via USB cable to your Computer and wait until Odin detects the device.
- In the field "IP:COM" should now the value of "x:[COMx]", and under "Message", the entry " Added!!".
- Click the bottom right of the window, click the "Start"Button. The process is completed, report back to Odin "PASS".
- Your Smartphone will now reboot. You drive it for the next step, however, back down.
Step 4: Galaxy S4 in Recovery mode, and Branding removal
- Now press simultaneously the keys "volume up", the "Home Button" and the "Power Button". Press and hold all three keys until on the screen the Samsung Logo appears.
- Wait a Moment, until the Recovery Mode is fully charged and you are in the main menu.
- Navigate with the button "volume down" to the point "wipe data/factory reset"and confirm your selection with the "Power-Button".
- You go with the button "volume down" to the point "Yes - delete all user data" and confirm again with the "Power-Button".
- Wait a Moment and select the Option "wipe cache partition". The Galaxy S4 will restart, and is exempt from the Branding.
