With Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Silence disappears mode, your Smartphone is only on Vibration setting. How to turn off your phone will still mute, we will show you in this practical tip.

Silent mode in Android 5.0 Lollipop: set breaks

When you reach the volume buttons to the lowest setting, the Vibration is still active. To turn it off, you need to set the interruptions.
  1. Press one of the volume buttons.
  2. Below the volume bar you can adjust the breaks. You have the choice between "None", "Important", or "All".
  3. Press on the "Important", and then click the white Gear icon.
  4. You can now specify which notifications an alert to sound. All other are only displayed on the Display without ringing, without vibrating.

An Alternative to the Silent mode: the Smartphone via airplane mode, mute

You need your Smartphone as a watch, alarm clock or notes to be by phone calls or messages being disturbed, also helps you in the airplane mode.
  1. Swipe with two fingers across the top of the screen of your smartphone and drag the bar down.
  2. Press "airplane mode".
  3. Your Android phone can now be continued as an alarm clock, at and co. use. Calls or messages not getting through, however.
