Windows XP: Internet setup - how to

Windows XP is no longer updated, but still frequently used. How to set up in the System, an Internet connection, we explain in this practical tip.

Windows XP: to set up a connection to the Internet

The easiest way the setup works via the wizard.
  1. On "Start" to go to "control panel" and then to "network and Internet connections".
  2. Once there, click on "set up your Internet connection and change".
  3. In the dialog window "Internet properties" click on "Setup" to start the wizard. Click on "Next".
  4. In the following window, select "connect to the Internet" and click on "Next".
  5. Afterwards, the window "preparing to follow". Select set up here, "my connection manually" and confirm with "Next".
  6. For a DSL connection, select in the following window, "connect using a broadband connection, the user name and password required".
  7. After clicking on "Next" the user name and password are requested. Enter the data you received from your Internet provider.
  8. Your information is correct, click "Next" to the window to complete the setup.
