Windows XP: folder size in the Explorer view

The detail view of Windows Explorer shows the size of the files in a folder. How much space the directories contained use, is not so understandable - and not how much space the folder is occupied in total.

The free Addon Folder Size 2.4 equips the function to.
  1. To install it, click in the Windows Explorer, double-click the entry and confirm the following warning with "Run ". Then follow the instructions of the setup.
  2. Then close all Windows Explorer Windows and restart the Explorer via the start menu or with [Win]+[E] new.
  3. On "view | Details" to activate the detail view.
  4. Click the headings with the right mouse button on the column and select in the context menu the Option "folder size ". The Windows Explorer now shows the desired Information in a new column.
