Windows Vista: create A bootable Windows 7 USB Stick erstellen

1. Files from the USB stick, save

The Stick is later formatted, all files on it. You should, therefore, create a backup of the data. To do this, copy all the files in a folder on your Computer.

2. ISO file of Windows 7 to create

If you have Windows 7 as a CD or DVD, you must first create an ISO Image. Windows 7 is already available as an ISO, you can skip this step.
  1. Download ImgBurn and install it on your Computer.
  2. Open the program and click "Create image file from disc".
  3. Insert the Windows CD or DVD in the drive and select it under "Source".
  4. Under "select a Destination" a place where you the ISO want to save and click on the large icon at the bottom left to create the Image.

3. Bootable USB Stick with UNetbootin to create

Now you can create the Windows 7 Image to a bootable USB Stick. To do this, UNetbootin need the free Tool.
  1. Download UNetbootin and open it.
  2. Select "Abblid" and set to the right of "ISO".
  3. Click on the Button "..." in the bottom right and select your ISO file.
  4. In the line below, select the type "USB drive" and click under "drive" in the USB drive that you attached to the Computer.
  5. Click "OK". The bootable Stick is created. After that, you can boot your PC from the Stick and install Windows 7.
