Windows 8.1: the Start Button

In Windows 8.1, in task a Start bar back-Button is displayed, however, distinguishes this from its predecessors in older versions of the operating system. But what is the new Start Button?

Also under Win 8.1, no classic start menu

In Windows 8 Microsoft removed the Start Button from the taskbar and to the Annoyance of many users moved. Therefore, the Button in Windows 8.1 has been introduced again the classic start menu, which is opened when Clicking the button, however, continue.
  • Rather, a click with the left mouse button directly to the tile interface of Windows 8.1.
  • In the "old" Windows 8 could also open this by clicking with the mouse in the lower left corner.

More functions when you right-click on the start button

Practical is the start button right-click: Under Win 8.1 had to be made so that some useful functions visible, the Microsoft's hidden Windows 8 rather than intuitively accessible (see Screenshot):
  • To do this, the command prompt, the Task Manager or the Run dialogue.
  • Also, the Windows-Explorer you can quickly navigate to them.
  • Especially practical: the entries to restart or shut down the computer.
