Windows 8.1: enable Bluetooth

You want to connect a mobile device via Bluetooth with a Windows 8 Computer, you need to enable Bluetooth first. We will show you how to do it.

Bluetooth under Windows 8.1 activate

  1. Proceed with the mouse to the upper-right or lower-right corner of the screen, so that the Charm Bar opens.
  2. Select at the very bottom of the "settings" and then "change PC settings".
  3. It is a new window in which you select on the left of the category "PC and devices" opens.
  4. Under the menu item "Bluetooth", you can activate the component. It will then search for available devices with which you then can connect.
  5. Alternatively, you will also come across the Windows search to the Bluetooth-settings - simply enter "Bluetooth".
Important note: The above instructions will of course only work if your laptop/PC via Bluetooth. To check, go to Windows device Manager (see image) - if the blue Bluetooth icon does not appear, your device is not bluetooth capable.
