If you don't want to log in after the launch of Windows 8 manually, you can use your Microsoft account to automatically log in. A little Registry Tweak makes it possible.

You use to log in Windows 8, your existing Microsoft account, so Apps like Skydrive instantly get access to your personal data. Nevertheless, you need to enter in the system start-up or access data. It's annoying, if you use the calculator, for example, at home alone. You want to realize, therefore, despite some security risks, again an automatic login. With the right settings, it works even with the Microsoft account.
  • The login information is simply stored in the Registry. To do this, press the key combination [Windows]+[R], type "regedit" and confirm with the enter key. Acknowledge the user account control by clicking on "Yes".
  • Navigate to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon".
  • Then right-click to edit double-click the value of "Auto admin logon", change it to "1" and confirm with "OK".
  • Now open DefaultPassword double click and the password, enter your Microsoft account. You may need to create this string for the first time. Similarly, you can also edit the value of "default user name". Your actual user name you must provide here, however the domain name "Microsoft account". The necessary entry is then, for example, "Microsoft account\ chip reader".
  • Then confirm with "OK", close the Registry and restart the PC.
