Windows 8: Apps update
If Apps on Windows 8 not open, it can be due to the fact that they are outdated. In this case, you should perform an Update and make sure that the Apps are up-to-date.
- Click Store on the start screen and move the mouse as the bottom on the right edge of the screen. Tap on "settings". Then select "App Updates".
- In the menu item "automatically update My Apps" you should set "Yes". So make sure that your Apps will be automatically updated. Otherwise, you can also manually check for Updates. Select search for Updates.
- It may happen that the installed on the PC the license is not synchronized with the license of the App. The App no longer works. Click on "sync licenses" to correct the error.

Windows 8: anti-virus program causes problems
Some anti-virus programs are able to perform behavior-based analysis. The security program checks the targeted actions of programs. Changed, or the program deletes files on the hard disk, that can be a suspicious action of the application. The security software can prevent Apps error free.
- You bring the security software with an Update to the current Version. Should the error still occur, disable the behavior based detection of the anti-virus program.
- The applications should crash, you need to uninstall the anti-virus program. You use security programs that are supported by Windows 8. You can also use the Windows Defender.
- If you have further problems, you should contact the manufacturer Support or on the Support page of the manufacturer for possible solutions.
Windows 8: Registry error fix
It may happen that erroneous entries in the Registry of Windows 8 are in the branch Ole present. These entries you should remove in order for the Apps to start again.
- You open with the key combination [Windows] + [R] in the input window "Run". Enter "regedit.exe" and click "OK". In the registry Editor, click "Yes".
- Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Ole. Press the right mouse button on Ole and go to "Export". You can the settings .reg-file.
- Then, you delete the entire contents of the Ole. Note that Ole itself remains still. Close the registry Editor.
- Restart your PC and check if the Apps start. You should have the error fixed, you can solve the Problem by re-Installation of Windows 8. You should not take the Windows 7 settings.
