Windows 7: icons in the library change

You want to make your libraries in Windows 7 individual, you can change their icons. We will show you how to do it.

Symbols of libraries under Windows 7

  1. Open the Windows Explorer by simultaneously pressing the keys "Windows" and "E".
  2. Enter the top in the navigation line, type the following path: "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries". Replace "XXX" by your Windows user name.
  3. Here you get an Overview of your libraries. Click with the right mouse button on the desired library, so that the context menu opens. Click on "Open with" and select the "Editor".
  4. Near the top you will find the entry "". Under the add in an empty line "C:\Users\XXX\Desktop\bild.ico" a. In the middle of a line, you specify the path for the location of the image file (see image).
  5. Many of the Icons that you want for your library can use, we have them here for Download.
  6. Place the image file in the desired folder and adjust the path in the Editor. Save the file in the Editor, then press the key combination "Ctrl" + "S" and close the window.
  7. The library has the assigned image.
