The Windows user account control on or off using the control panel
You want to disable the Windows user account control, there are basically two options. It is easiest if you call up the setting using the control panel:
- Click on the Windows Logo in the lower-left corner, to enter the start menu.
- Open the "control panel".
- Enter the top right of the search box (search control panel) "maintenance center".
- Click on "action center", in addition, a blue flag is shown. Now navigate in the left bar "change user account control settings". A new window will open (see Screenshot).
- To see you pull the slider with the mouse to the bottom like in the Screenshot. Then you confirm the setting with "OK". You may need to restart the Computer. After that, the Windows user account is turned off control.
The fast way: Also to disable the user account control
A little more tricky, but also faster, the following procedure, you turn off the user account control under Windows 7 is:
- Click and hold the Windows key and "R" on the keyboard.
- In the new Run window, type "user account control settings" and confirm with the Enter key. The case is not decisive.
- Now drag the slider to the bottom, as above, in point 5 will be described. Confirm with "OK".

User Account Control Settings
The tips relate to a System with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Under Windows Vista the user account control off, you can stick to the first approach. However, you have to control here, rather than the "action center" in the "user accounts" and then click on "turn user account control on or off". In the following window, uncheck the "use user account control to help protect the computer to contribute" and confirm with "OK".
