If you want to drive a PC remotely shutdown, you need no additional software. Windows has all the necessary Features on Board - you just have to activate. We will show you how this works.

PC remotely shutdown: requirements

To be able to a PC with a remote control, both devices must be on the same network, for example, in the home network. We will show you in a separate practice tips on how to make a network under Windows 7 , and Windows 8 set up.

Preparation: Shutdown-Option to enable

The Shutdown Option is disabled on Windows machines by default. You can turn it on but in just a few steps.

Open "Run" with the key combination Windows key+R on the Computer you want to remote control.
Enter gpedit.msc and press Enter to confirm.
Click in the new window, click "computer configuration", then "Windows settings" and select "security settings".
Here, select "Local policies" -> "user rights assignment" and double click "Force shutdown from a remote system".
Now, click on "add user or group" and add the user "Everyone".
Confirm with "OK" in all dialog Windows and restart the PC.
