Roll key on the keyboard: Thats what its really there for
The scroll key on the keyboard is a relic from a bygone era. The classic PC mouse as we know it did not always have a scroll wheel, let alone the mouse was present on every PC.
- On many models, you will find the scroll key on the right at the top edge of your keyboard between "Print/S-Rep" and "Pause/Interrupt".
- If the "Scroll" function is activated, you can scroll through a document using the arrow keys without the cursor moving.
- In rare cases, programs even offer support for the key: In Excel 2007 , when the scroll function is activated, you can scroll through the table without leaving the selected column.
- The roll key also has a function in TeamViewer : All keyboard shortcuts are executed on your own PC when the roll function is activated.
- If you work in the Linux terminal, you can also use the roles function. This allows you to scroll through the window using the arrow keys.
