What is the difference between LED and OLED?

In addition to LED, there is OLED, but what is behind it and what's the difference?

LED and OLED in comparison

LED stands for "(inorganic) light-emitting diode" OLED for "Organic light-emitting diode". This results in the following differences:
  • LED so-called point light sources, OLEDs are area emitters.
  • The OLED light is soft and diffuse.
  • The OLED lifespan is currently lower than it was in the case of LED.
  • Also, the energy efficiency of OLED a bit worse than in the case of LED.
  • OLED Displays are, however, contrast with, the colours were richer.
