Files with WinRAR compress
- Open in Explorer the folder where the files to backup are located. Select it and then click with the right mouse button on one of the files. In the menu, select "add To archive".
- Under the "General" tab you will find the Option "compression method". For the most effective compression select "best" (see picture). Depending on the package size, this compression can take a very long time.
- Enter an archive name and confirm with "OK". Note, however, that it is dependant on the file types in the archive, the extent to which the compression is successful.
- If you want to customize the default settings for the compression, open WinRAR and click options. Then select "settings" and "compression". Here you can set the default for all future archives. (By the way: you can, in WinRAR a default folder for the unzipped files set.)
