Winamp: ID3 Tags only to a limited extent correctable
- In mid-may 2014 the cooperation between Winamp and Gracenote has been completed. The company Gracenote, operates the Online database, CDDB, which is used, among other things, iTunes.
- Winamp matches the songs with the Online database, CDDB, and, therefore, the data of about 100 million individual Songs.
- Since the middle of may, the automatic correction of the ID3 Tags does not work anymore thus. When the function runs again, it can currently not be said. Try the following instructions are, therefore, simple.
- Currently is thinking about a cooperation between Winamp and the service "MusicBrainz". Should find a new service for Winamp, can be carried out the following instructions again easily.

So you correct the ID3 Tags in Winamp automatically
Since the Version 5.5 include the free "Winamp Full", and also the paid version "
Winamp Pro" the "Auto-Tagger". In the Lite Version there is the function not.
- Download, as usual, the songs in your Winamp Playlist and select the song whose ID3 Tags you want to correct (with the key combination [Ctrl] + [A] to select all tracks).
- You open with a right click on the selected songs in the context menu. On the "Send to" Option opens another menu in which you click on the "Auto-Tagger" (see Screenshot).
- Now the "Auto-Tagger" and the Online database. Depending on the number of songs can take several minutes.
- You are with the new ID3-Tags, click "apply Changes". Individual songs can you exclude, by removing the hooks on the left.
