A Ubuntu-Server on a German keyboard-Layout switch, you only need a few commands. We will show you how to do it.

So, switch to a German keyboard-Layout

  1. You can open the console and enter the following command (without the quotation marks): "sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration".
  2. There is a window where you can set your keyboard settings to change opens. First select "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC" (see Screenshot).
  3. Next, you need to confirm "English" as the country of origin of the keyboard, and select the following menu of "English". The other settings leave as is.
