Ubuntu: No sound – they can do that
The first way should be that you check whether the sound card was ever found.
- Go to "system settings" > "Audio". There should be visible under "output" > "sound on" multiple entries, if the sound card was found.

The sound card was not found in the system settings, you can search for it via the Terminal.
- In a Terminal, enter the command "cat /proc/asound/cards", the System displays all of the discovered cards.
