To read a Text prior to the publication of a correction, you can use in OpenOffice Writer the "correction mode": The original document is not changed, only the Changes and comments are highlighted in yellow. The author sees then at a glance, where you have correct suggestions.

The correction mode is activated with the so-called "Record"function:
  1. In the menu, click "edit" to "Changes" and then select "Record".
  2. All Changes will now be documented: When you remove characters, it will not be completely removed, but only with a strikethrough and highlighted in yellow.
  3. Even if you add words that are marked in this colour. So the author can immediately see the text passages they would change.
  4. To disable this function, follow the procedure in step 1.
