Remove red eye with Photoshop

With Photoshop you can quickly remove annoying red eyes from your photos. In this practical tip we will show you a way how to do it.

Step 1: Red eye with the polygonal Lasso tool to mark

The easiest way to remove red-eye, by minimizing the Reds of the eyes. To do this, zoom in on the eyes on the photo, so you can edit it better.
  1. Select in the tool the tool "polygonal Lasso tool from the toolbar".
  2. Select the red pupil in the photo, by selecting (drag by holding down the mouse button), a circle around the pupil of the eye.
  3. Shift key/shift key you can select the second eye.

Step 2: colour correction via Photoshop

Once the eyes are selected, it will discolor the red areas.
  1. To do this, open the menu "image" - "correction"- "hue/saturation". (Shortcut: Ctrl + U)
  2. Choose the Reds and move the brightness slider to the left to -100.
  3. The red eyes should be black, and the reflection of the flash visible.
