Ubuntu: Picasa install and start
To be able to Picasa under Ubuntu, you must first install "Wine" and then Picasa will start. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Start Ubuntu with [CTRL]+[ALT]+[T] first in a new Terminal.
- Then install Wine with the command "sudo apt-get install wine".
- After you have "Wine" installed, you need to then Picasa download.
- If you have saved Picasa, by default, in the Download folder, you can install it with the command "wine ~/downloads/picasa39-setup.exe". Otherwise, you need to adjust the path to the file.
- Now click on "Accept" and select a destination directory for the Installation.
- With a click on "Install" Picasa installed on your System.
- To start Picasa, you need to do is simply execute a double click on the created desktop icon.
