If you want to create a winter landscape with a snow-effect, Photoshop offers you some functions. In this practical tip we will show you how it works.

In the first step in Photoshop with the noise filter to the pixels randomly in one image.

  1. Navigate to "Filter" > "blur filter" -> "Gaussian blur". A new dialogue window will open. Enter a Radius of 1.0 Pixel. Press "OK".
  2. Press the key combination [Ctrl] + [L] to open the tone correction. The tonal spread you can flakes of snow multiply or enlarge. Here it is best if you just try and with the values a bit to play. You have created your desired snow effect, click "OK".
  3. In the end, you choose right from within your layers dialog window, multiply the blend mode of "Negative". You will receive a winter landscape with snow flakes.
