Own Mini start menu in Windows 8 put together

In Windows 8, you can put together a start menu itself. We will show you how.

Start menu

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to a suitable Position, for example, in your user profile.
  • Select "New folder", confirm the access and give it the name "Start".
  • You now change into the new folder.
  • Click with the right mouse button in the blank area and select the context command "New" -> "shortcut".
  • Click on "Browse" and navigate to the desired program file that you want to include in the start menu. You can also select in Windows Explorer, a program file, and to copy, before you switch back to the newly created folder.
  • Repeat the process for all required programs.
  • Also, shortcuts to folders are possible. You can organize the start menu with folders more.

Folder as the start menu

Click with the right mouse button on a free spot of the taskbar and select "toolbars" -> "New toolbar".
  1. Navigate to the newly created folder for the start menu and click "select folder".
  2. To back to the start menu, to the right place, click again with the right mouse button on the task bar and disable the Option "lock the taskbar".
  3. Drag the new toolbar and Drag-and-Drop to the top of the task bar.
  4. Click the bar with the right mouse button on the Control and verify that, in the context menu "show title" is enabled.
  5. The Option "display Text" turn off better. Now, you can lock the taskbar again and your favorite start programs faster.
