OpenOffice: change character spacing

You can change like in Word, in OpenOffice the character spacing. However, the Option is somewhat hidden. We show you where you can find the correct setting.

Character spacing in OpenOffice change

  1. Open OpenOffice Writer and then press on "Format".
  2. Now a drop-down menu, in which you have to select the "characters" click open.
  3. In the next window there are several tabs. Here click on "Position".
  4. In the menu you find as the last section, "walking distance". Set this from "default" to "Disabled". In the field behind it, you can set your new character spacing.
  5. Below you can see a box with a preview. You make so easy the distance to the desired result to the top, and then confirm with "OK".
