With the Syntax Highlighting Notepad++ has a useful Tool that makes programming much clearer. The function can also be disable, or configure. We will show you how to do that.

Syntax Highlighting in Notepad++ to enable and disable

  1. Start Notepad++ on your Computer.
  2. You go to the top of the tab on the Option "languages".
  3. To clear the Highlighting, move the mouse pointer over the letter "N".
  4. In the menu of the item "Normal Text"is displayed.
  5. To reactivate, go to the "languages" and select the programming language whose structure is to be lifted in the foreground.

Notepad++: colors and backgrounds of the Syntax highlighting to customize

You want to highlight other colors, you can also set this in Notepad++.
  1. Go to the "settings" tab and from here on the "styles...".
  2. About "Design", there are already some templates. Including, for example, "Deep Black" or "Hello Kitty".
  3. You can use the menu on the left band but also for each language a own color scheme and adjust accordingly.
  4. With "Save" to apply the new style then.
