The error "-49" in "iMovie" occurs, you can't export your Videos. This is especially in the case of larger files of the case. We will show you how you can fix the Problem quickly.

iMovie error 49 fix: The local Backup disable

The reason for the error message "-49" is the so-called "Mobile Backup" of Apple's backup software Time Machine. As soon as you disable the function, you can export with "iMovie" back to error-free Videos. Note, however, that all of your local Time Machine Backups are deleted.
  • Start the "Terminal". Straightforward for this to work, for example, through the Dock, where you open your "programs" and then "utilities".
  • The following command disables the local Backup: "sudo tmutil disable local". A reboot completes the process.
  • With "sudo tmutil enable local", you can enable the backup service.
