Gimp: Own Splash Screen to create

To whom is the Start screen of Gimp is too boring for you, you can create your own Splash Screen. In this practical tip we show you how and where your creativity free rein.

Own Splash Screen with Gimp create

  1. Open it on your Windows PC to the following directory: "C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\images"
  2. In the "images" folder, create a copy of the file "gimp-splash". Then, you open the original file with Gimp.
  3. Now you can edit the image or delete it completely. To do this, click on the tab "file" and then "New...". Your creativity when editing the image, no borders.
  4. You are with the design finished, press [Ctrl] + [S] to save the finished image. They give as a store name "gimp-splash.png" and save it in images folder (see the second Show).
  5. As soon as you launch Gimp next Time, you will see your own Splash Screen.
