Step 1: font with Gimp insert
- Open an image with Gimp.
- Select in the tool the Option "Text from box".
- Click at the location of the image you want to insert the font.
- In the Editor, enter the Text for your image and place it on your artwork.

Step 2: lettering in Gimp edge
- Highlight the Text on your photo and select the Text layer in the layers menu.
- In the context menu click on "selection from alpha channel". The Text on your image is outlined with a dashed line.
- Select in the tool box the color selection Dialog and set the desired color for your border.
- Then click the tab "edit" and in the context menu to "choice, re-tighten".
- A new window will open. Here you can set the border style. For example, select the line width or the dash pattern.
- After you click OK, the font outlined and you can get the image to export.
