In OpenOffice Writer, the Font default is Times New Roman. However, you can also set a different default Font. We will show you how to do that.

To set a default Font in OpenOffice Writer

  1. Open a new document in OpenOffice and click on the "tools"menu.
  2. Here, you select the "settings".
  3. In the Sub menu of Writer, you find the fifth, the "basic fonts Western."
  4. Here you can select a default Font and then the Change by "Ok" to confirm.

The guide is based on OpenOffice.org 4.0.1. Under OpenOffice 3.4, you can find the settings for the Font under "tools" > "options" > "open office writer" > "basic fonts".
