AMD: CPU with OverDrive to overclock – you need to do
In the following, we will show you how you can overclock your AMD CPU by using the Tools OverDrive:
- First download the free Tool , AMD OverDrive , download and install it.
- Open the program after you have it successfully installed on your PC.
- Then switch the top Tab "Performance Control" and "Clock/Voltage".
- There you will see the current performance of your CPU. To overclock the processor, you first need to set the check mark for "Select all Cores". Then, move the Slider "CPU Core 0 Multiplier" to the right.
- In the upper field "CPU Core 0 Speed" you will see under "Current Speed" the new speed of the CPU.
- It should come to a crash, change the slider to "CPU VID" under "Voltage (V)". This regulates the supply Voltage for the processor.
- It is important that you have a "Status Monitor" > "CPU Status", the temperature of the processor in view. A temperature under 60 degrees is considered ideal.
- Tip: With the free Tool "Cinebench" you can use your CPU for stability check.
- Before you apply the Changes, you should run in OverDrive under the "Performance Control" - > "Stability Test" a number of Tests to ensure that your CPU can execute the Changes.
