Update notifications in Adobe Reader, disable
In the current Version 10 of the Adobe Reader, you cannot turn off the Update messages, unfortunately, directly in the program. You can, however, disable with Windows-Board resources to the competent service. This has the same effect.
- Press simultaneously the keys "Windows" and "R".
- Enter in the input field "msconfig" and click "OK". Confirm any safety query with a click on the Button "Yes".
- You are now in the system configuration. You can switch to the tab "services", you will see all the programs and services that start with Windows.
- Click on the table "manufacturer", should appear at the top of the service that is the Update responsible. The means in the current Version 10 of the "Adobe Acrobat Update Service" (see image).
- You remove the hook in front of the entry, and click "OK". After a restart, the Updater is disabled.
- You can update the program later, it may be that the service is re-enabled. Then you need to repeat the steps.
