Virus protection for Samsung TV - these options are available
Like all technical devices with an internet connection, smart TVs from viruses and other malware can also be affected. Samsung recognized and acted this weak point some time ago.
- From 2017, all Smart TV S will be delivered with a pre -installed virus scanner. If you suspect malware on your device, you can easily subject your Smart TV to a virus scan.
- The pre-installed virus scanner can be found in the settings under General> System Manager> Smart Safety. In this menu, select "Scan" to start the process.
- All Smart TVs from the year of construction 2019 also get the antivirus software from McAfee preinstalled. However, you can also uninstall them on request.
- The systems always offer active protection in the background, a manual scan is therefore not absolutely necessary.
Samsung TVs have been delivered with virus protection since 2017.

The system is so safe
Even if Samsung offers these options for security, the specially programmed and used tizen OS was often criticized in the past.
- The operating system in the security audit in 2017 received a comparatively poor rating. The reason for this was the lack of safety of the operating system as a whole.
- The virus scanner was therefore also critically seen by some experts - as a quick remedy for a problem that it could be better solved by securing the operating system.
- In the meantime, however, Samsung has improved and increased security on many levels. In addition to transmissions, connections and apps, the hardware is now also monitored for attacks and changes.
- No matter whether virus protection or not, smart TVs have not yet been victims of large hacker attacks. The data stored on TV are simply not particularly interesting. The computing power of smart TVs would also not be relevant for bot networks.
