If Avast is blocking a program you want to run, you can disable the virus protection just in the short term. How to do this, we will show you in this practical tip.

Avast protection temporarily disable

It often happens that a virus program such as Avast is blocking other programs or work on the PC in any other way hindered. In these cases, you can disable the anti-virus program, quite simply, for a certain period of time:
  • Under Windows you can find in the System Tray at the bottom right is a small icon of Avast. Often this is only visible when you click on the arrow "show hidden icons".
  • After right-clicking on the icon, you can under "avast! Protection control", select for how long Avast has to be disabled - for example, until the next reboot, or only ten minutes long.
  • However, you can also disable individual functions of Avast (see Screenshot). To do this, open the program and go to settings.
  • Under the tab "Active protection" you can turn off individual functions. You should leave the functions, but in no case longer than necessary disabled.
