Just for mathematical formulas, it may be important to use in documents with a period character. As you can enter it in Word, you can find here. Unfortunately, this is only possible indirectly.

As you type the period character in Word

  • Go to the Word menu on the Tab "Insert".
  • Then, select "object".
  • Now click in the new window that opens, the tab "create New".
  • You choose in the selection list for the "Microsoft equation Editor".
  • With the Button "templates for Under - and Overlines" you can now enter the required periods of characters as "Overline".
As you in Excel percentage calculations can be found in our next practice tip.
