Outlook: profile-Reset - so it works

If you have Outlook problems, you can reset your Mail profile. To do this, you first delete your existing profile, and then create a New one. How it works exactly, read here.

Step 1: Outlook delete profile

  1. You go into the "control panel" and switch to "classic view" by clicking the top right next to "view by" to "small icons".
  2. Then click "Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013)".
  3. In the "Mail Setup window, click E-Mail accounts ...".
  4. Select your current Outlook profile and click on "Remove". Confirm with "OK". CAUTION: If you had originally set no POP reception but IMAP receiving, are deleted all the Mails from that profile. Secure, therefore, as a precaution, your emails, before you delete your profile.
  5. Your Outlook contacts, you can advance also secure.

Step 2: Outlook-creating a profile

After you have saved your Mails and to delete the profile, create a New one. To do this, perform steps 1-3. Alternatively, you can just open Outlook so that the "login window" appears.
  • Select "E-Mail account" and click on "Next".
  • In the next window, your name and E-Mail address and the corresponding password (see image).
  • Follow the steps until the account is re-established.
