To show and Hide the ribbon, there are two very simple methods:
- By mouse: double-Click on one of the menu points like "Start" or "view". Then the ribbon is folded. Repeat the double-click, which brings back the complete menu.
- By keyboard: Press in the respective Office program, the key combination [Ctrl] + [F1].
- Even if the menu is hidden, you can use all of the options: Click on one of the menu items and the ribbon is displayed until you click again on an other free surface.
- Tip: In some of the Office programs, there is also a full screen mode the entire screen area can use. You can find this under different names in the menu "view" in Word, such as "full screen reading" mode or in Excel as a "Full screen".
