So, you write an inverted exclamation point in Word
The special character that is found particularly often in the Spanish font to use, is not noted on the German keyboard. There are two methods on how you insert the Symbol, nevertheless, quite easy in a document:
- Select your Text to the desired location and press the key combination: "control + Alt + Shift + 1" to create an inverted exclamation mark.
- Alternatively, you can use the Unicode. To do so, hold down the Alt key and then tap the dial 0161. Then release the Alt key, is inserted in the upside-down exclamation mark.

So you can define your own key combination
As an alternative to the pre-stored Shortcuts you can also create your own keyboard shortcut for the inverted exclamation mark.
- You open the Word and bring the Cursor to the location you want to the inverted exclamation mark insert.
- Then go up to "Insert" and click the far right "icon".
- Click on "More symbols..." and make sure that "Font: (normal Text)" is selected.
- Then select in the list of symbols the inverted exclamation mark. You will find it pretty far, to the top of the Alphabet in lowercase letters.
- Then click on the button "shortcut key...", select your own, and finally, click on "Assign".
