Error "Outlook 550 authentication required" in the account settings
The error message indicates that there is a authentication problem on the outgoing mail server.
- Click above in the menu bar, click "file" and then "information".
- Go to "account settings" and in the sub-menu again on "account settings".
- Double-click on your E-Mail address, then click "More settings".
- There you select "outgoing mail server".
- Enable the Option "my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and "use Same settings as my incoming mail server".
- You confirm everything with "OK".
- Note: in Principle, you can use these instructions for older versions of Office. The menu may be slightly different.
