Microsoft Word can count characters and words in your text automatically. In addition, you know how many pages, paragraphs and lines you have written.

So count with Microsoft Word, the characters and words

You have written your Text and want to check the number of characters, do the same in Word 2010 as follows.
  • Click in the top program bar to "Check" (see Screenshot).
  • Go here now to "word count". Immediately a statistic POPs up that tells you how many characters and words in your Text. The characters are separated with and without the spaces given. In addition, you know how many pages, sections and rows in your Word document.
This tip describes the character count function in Word 2010. In other Microsoft Word versions of the function is mostly similar to. So the tab is called "Check" in Word 2007 "Review", the associated group is, but here, too, "document examination".
