Mac OS X: Library folder permanently in the Finder

You wish to allow in Mac OS X the Library folder permanently in the Finder, you no longer need to go the circuitous route via the Terminal. We will show you how to do it easier.

From the Version of Mac OS X 10.7 you can display the Library folder, easily accessible via the presentation function displays:
  1. First open the Finder.
  2. In the side menu, click on the folder with the house icon.
  3. Call now with the key combination [CMD] + [J] the representation function. Select the Option "Library folder view" and confirm the selection with "use As defaults".

You use an older Version of Mac OS X, you unfortunately, to the Terminal. But even here, the setting is done quickly:
  1. Open the Terminal. You can find it in the Finder under "applications -> utilities".
  2. Enter the command chflags nohidden ~/Library "and confirm the entry. Now the Library folder is in the Finder permanently visible.
There are many folders you don't want to make it visible to everyone. Read, therefore, as files and folders on the Desk to hide.
