GPRS: What does the term mean?
The letters GPRS stand as an abbreviation for "General Packet Radio Service". The shape of the position determination is an evolution of GSM, the Global System for Mobile Communications.
- A GPRS connection is characterized by the so-called data packets that are individually transmitted. This will only be set when receiving back together. It is characterized by a fast technology for position determination.
- Who uses the GPRS is constantly connected (transmission connection). An exchange of the data packets takes place only if the Position has to be determined (radio-channel connection).
- Thanks to this connection only charges the actual Transfer, but not in the case of the constant connection drop.
