iTunes Update failed - what to do?

In this practical tip we will show you what you can do when an iTunes Update has failed.

iTunes error: R6034 Runtime Error

Apple has recently released an Update for iTunes. This is apparently fraught with errors and returns the error "R6034 Runtime Error":
  • You have successfully installed the Update, the message "R6034 - an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the apps support team for more info". A corrupted file is, according to Apple, here is the error.
  • A pure reinstallation would not fix the Problem. Here it only helps to remove the Software, including the sub-folder completely, and reinstall iTunes.

iTunes error: Windows Error 1114

  • In the case of a second Installation of the Updates, you receive the error message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes".
  • Here, too, you don't need to remove, make sure iTunes is easy through control panel. It must also be all of the files and folders are deleted so that the Update works correctly.

iTunes Update failed in Windows - the solution

  1. You go to the "control panel" and then select "programs and features".
  2. Search here for "iTunes" and uninstall it.

iTunes Update on the Mac failed - how to fix the error

Start the "Terminal" under "search", "programs", "utilities".
  1. Enter the command "cd /Applications/" and press Enter to confirm. The command brings you to the folder "programs".
  2. To Uninstall iTunes, you need to now the command "sudo rm-rf iTunes.app/ enter" and the Enter key to confirm. For security reasons, you will need to enter your Admin password.
