The surface of the YouTube Video editor
After the Start of the YouTube Video editor, you need to login with your user account on YouTube. The interface of the Video editor is kept simple so that even novice users will find it easy to use.
- In the top input line, you can give your project any name. With the project Button to create new projects and open or delete it.
- The large video window shows you a preview of the current project.
- To the right of the video window you get an Overview of the different elements that you can add to your project. With the Icons you can select between different elements: My Videos Creative Commons Videos, photos, music, Transitions and Text.
- Below the Video window to a time bar. This is divided into two tracks: one for video files and one for audio files. At the bottom right you will find a slider to change the time division of the time bar.

You want to edit a Video, you must add it first to a new project.
- Find out the Overview of the desired Video and drag it into the time. Be sure to drag the Video into the video track.
- You can arrange multiple Videos in a row in the timeline, or images, Transitions, and add text. This is also the track for video files.
- When you add an audio file, you must drag them to the audio track.
- After you have drawn the individual elements in the timeline, you can arrange any way you like by Drag and Drop.

Once you have dragged a Video into the timeline of the YouTube Video-editor, this in a lot of ways to edit. You want to crop it, you only need to shift the two vertical gray bars on the sides of the Videos. You move the mouse pointer in the time bar of a Video, to be displayed four options for editing:
- With the round arrow symbol, you can rotate the Video.
- The magic wand opens a new window, allowing you to make an automatic image correction adjusting brightness and contrast, and Pan & zoom can enable. You can also White a Black-and-mode switching, shaky Videos stabilize a slow-motion set, and various image effects to apply.
- With the a-icon you get the option to place a text banner on the Video.
- With the scissors icon to cut the Video. You can set a cut point at which the Video is shared.
A Video edit
