MBit/s: unit for speeds
- To quantify the speed of an Internet connection or a hard disk, is used the so-called data transfer rate. It says how many data is to be processed per second.
- The smallest data unit is the Bit. A possible description of the Internet speed would be 100 Bits per second, short of 100 bit/s.
- There's a Bit, however, is very small, can be measured such speeds often in MBit/s. For still higher speeds, there is also the name of GBit/s. The "M" stands for "Mega", the "G" for "Giga".
