Indexed: What is the means?
The Federal Department for media harmful to young persons (BPjM), headquartered in Bonn, Germany for the examination of media. A Medium, for example, a Film or a computer, as a youth classified as hazardous, it ends up on the Index, it is then indexed. This does not mean, however, that this product is banned and not to be sold:
- If a youth Minister or office, for example, a Film, computer game or Video youth appears to present a danger to the office a request for indexing to the BPjM.
- As harmful to youth, for example, media with violence-glorifying, pornographic or war-glorifying content are classified.
- An application for indexing will be provided, you will be notified of the copyright or the owner of the affected medium.
- This can then take you to the application. A body of the BPjM decides about the indexing.
- If a Medium has already been provided through the Voluntary self-control of the film industry (FSK) or the entertainment software self-regulation body (USK) with an age label is not initiated the indexing procedure.
- In the Radio and television indexed media must not be broadcast. Online and CD/DVD sales and distribution restrictions must be introduced. So can no longer be advertised for indexed media, the media may only be given to adults and sold only to a limited extent in the shipping trade are distributed.
- Media remain 25 years on the Index. Thereafter, it is again checked whether they are still considered harmful to minors.
- The list for youth-endangering media is published quarterly in the magazine "BPjM Aktuell".
