SSL and TLS-encryption in the comparison
SSL is an "obsolete" Standard, and is continued under the name TLS. The last SSL Version 3.0, which is why you will encounter TLS 1.0 is sometimes referred to as SSL 3.1 in the Internet. TLS has, in contrast to the last SSL Version of these functions:
- Pseudo random function: your data are more difficult to intercept.
- Key Exchange: TLS is used as the Key Exchange, the Digital Signature Standard and the Diffie-Hellmann algorithm. Uses SSL to Fortezza-based Algorithms. The Algorithms, the TLS, are decrypt for the attacker is heavier and therefore safer.
