Spotify is legal? This is the legal position
The good news in advance: Spotify is perfectly legal. The music-streaming service has made an agreement with the GEMA and all other rights holders and is thus authorized to stream the Songs.
- Spotify pays for the music rights of the individual artist. Thus, you can sit safely back and to the enjoyment of music to indulge.
- The extent to which the music-streaming service is not free of charge, and how expensive the music is fun, however, depends on your personal needs:

Free Spotify, the music-tariffs
Spotify offers a total of four different rates, with different costs.
- The cheapest Tariff is Free. As the Name suggests, you will incur no costs. It can cost you your nerves, as the sound quality is only 128 kbps, and in between Songs advertising recorded.
- The Spotify Premium plan will cost you on a monthly basis for around 10 euros. The sound quality is 320 kbps and you will not be spared the commercials. Furthermore, you can listen to the Songs offline.
- The student rate includes the same benefits as the Premium plan, however, costs only around 5 euros on a monthly basis. To enjoy the benefits for a year, you must identify yourself as a Student.
- The Collective Family of Spotify for around 15 euros. It includes the same terms and conditions as the Premium service. Only exception: In the case of the Spotify Family Fare may in addition to the main subscribers to the five other members of the family, the music-Streaming service free of charge.
- Tip: The paid Premium services of Spotify, you may test a month free of charge. Subsequently, a one-month notice period applies.
