Quickly access to Google Maps on the Desktop to set up

If you use Google Maps frequently, you can set a shortcut on your Desktop. So you don't have to type the address in your Browser.

Desktop shortcut for Google Maps create

  1. Click with the right mouse button on a free spot on your desktop.
  2. From the context menu, select "New" and then click on "link".
  3. A new window will appear. In the field "Enter the location of the item:" add the address "https://www.google.de/maps/" (without the quotation marks).
  4. Then click on "Next".
  5. Give the shortcut a name, for example "Google Maps", and click "Finish".
